“Above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don't believe in magic will never find it.”
― Roald Dahl

Visual magician in residence under a blue sky.
Why?
Art is important because it promotes creativity, self-expression, and emotional connections, helping individuals understand themselves and others better.
Art also plays a vital role in cultural discussions and can inspire changes within society.
#Art is the original, lasting form of expression.

“While the authority of the doctor or plumber is never questioned, everyone deems himself a good judge and an adequate arbiter of what a work of art should be and how it should be done. It's therefore a risky and unfeeling act to send it out into the world.”
―― Mark Rothko

Creating in art for art’s sake while spiriting a viewer away from humdrum realities of the everyday tediums is a fulfilling endeavor.
Art can be an existential exploration of the essence of what it means to be a conceptually capable being.
Imagination, creativity and interpretation of life is human.

Abstract art is a form of #art that does not aim to represent an accurate depiction of visual reality but instead uses shapes, colors and forms to create compositions that may exist independently from real-world references allowing for a range of interpretations and emotional responses from viewers.

Could there be DNA for creativity?
Throughout the history of bipedal humanoids there seems to be a genetic disposition to make representations of imaginings, the earliest being abstractive in nature.
Art may be as integral to a human as are blood and bones and often lasts longer.
Art defines humans.

“The world is full of magic things, patiently waiting for our senses to grow sharper.”
― W.B. Yeats

“Disbelief in magic can force a poor soul into believing in government and business.”
― Tom Robbins

The entire universe, every aspect of creation, is magical - except in dark corners of lost belief.

"Life is an effort to grip before they slip through one's fingers and slide into oblivion, the #startling, the ghastly or the blindingly #exquisite fish of the #imagination before they whip away on the endless current and are lost for ever in oblivion's black ocean.”
― Mervyn Peake: modernist writer

“That proves you are unusual," returned the Scarecrow; "and I am convinced that the only people worthy of consideration in this world are the #unusual ones. For the common folks are like the leaves of a tree, and live and die unnoticed.”
― L. Frank Baum (Wizard of Oz author)

Got me a git box
and on it I play,
sometimes all night
or
through the dang day.

Got me a git box
it's a trusty ol' friend,
plucking dem strings
making notes truly bend,
loving da joy it brings.

it a rugged, beat-up thing
makes me so darn happy,
sometimes I even sing.

Art for Good
A large study of stage III colon cancer patients showed that regular aerobic exercise, like #cycling, reduced cancer recurrence by 28% and deaths by 37% over eight years.
Cycling was a recommended activity in the study’s program.

Sometimes devoting one's creative abilities is critical.

Stretched on a couch, handed a large panel and a soft voice requested, "what do you see?"
Staring intently, a rush of considerations flooded the mind.
It seemed as though there was a sense of time travel, skipping, jumping, hither and yon, in an encyclopedia of existential moments, past and distant.

“On the level below the strings, the smallest immaterial “particles” (“waves”) reach the "absolute speed." Based on this, the smallest and undetectable “particles” (“waves”) are everywhere, micro and macro, since they are fundamental and indivisible.”
― Dejan Stojanovic

“I believe that imagination is stronger than knowledge. That myth is more potent than history. That dreams are more powerful than facts. That hope always triumphs over experience. That laughter is the only cure for grief. And I believe that love is stronger than death.”
― Robert Fulghum

Wealth without work.
Pleasure without conscience.
Knowledge without character.
Commerce without morality.
Science without humanity.
Worship without sacrifice.
Politics without principle."

“That’s been one of my mantras - focus and simplicity. Simple can be harder than complex: You have to work hard to get your thinking clean to make it simple. But it’s worth it in the end because once you get there, you can move mountains.”
― Steve Jobs

“The word itself has another color. It’s not a word with any resonance, although the e was once pronounced. There is only the bump now between b and l, the relief at the end, the whew. It hasn’t violet’s rapid sexual shudder or like a rough road the irregularity of ultramarine.”

“When you start working, everybody is in your studio - the past, your friends, enemies, the #art world, and above all, your own ideas - all are there. But as you continue painting, they start leaving, one by one, and you are left completely alone. Then, if you are lucky, even you leave.”

"I do have veneers."
"Do you? Oh, they look good!" she stammered. "You wouldn't know. But, like you obviously have access to a great doctor. The normies out here shouldn't get them. They raise the bar on what is needed to pass or risk losing the base, who are frustrated, real upset."

"I had no other company, but scorpions and wild beasts. My face was pale with fasting but my mind was inflamed with desires in my cold body: and although my flesh was half-dead already, yet the flames of fleshly lust boiled within me.”

Bands play the same songs, over and over. Symphonies are merely cover bands. Actors memorize the writings of others and make faces while repeating them - on camera. The downfall of an #artist is "style", which actually means "set in concrete".
Me? I am never tied down.
Repetition is a form of death.
