Twin Peaks was this massive thing when I was a kid & I remember watching, not necessarily understanding, but scenes were still burned into my brain. Rewatched as an adult & was blown away. David Lynch was a creative genius #RIPDavidLynch

I'm told that she always wished she could find her mother, I'm happy to say that we did find the whole family & when people ask if you could go back in time and talk to one person, it's always Kate that is on my mind, a strong women who paved the way. (Kate is left).

A daughter, Katherine Ann quickly followed (my Great Gran), then Margaret, Christina and finally Mary. Sadly Margaret died at 1 year old of convulsions despite treatment paid for by the board of guardians at a Dublin hospital. (Kate's daughters & one step daughter)

On the 31st October 1913 Kate married local 'bad boy' John Leech. John's first wife had recently died so Kate took on his four children who Johm had recently claimed back from the workhouse.

My 2x Great Gran, Kate O'Leary who won't go down in history, anywhere other than in my family but I will attempt to tell her story.

What a find! My Great Aunt was interviewed as part of a BBC Panorama episode in 1969. We had no idea until a historian from the local uni did a piece of work. It was incredible to hear her voice with her strong Galway accent. Here she is in the burgundy coat helping the children onto the bus.

Thomas's will couldn't be found so a neighbour had to write a letter confirming he had told her that he had made a will in favour of his mother Bridget. She was sent £7, 12 shillings and 4 pence, the price of a son.

Duting Nov I try & post a little something about one of my relatives who served in The Great War. Like most families, multiple members of the young men of my family ended up fighting in the trenches. Thomas Dalton, born 4th July 1895 in Gort, Galway, Ireland was one of them. 🧵
