I had the opportunity to participate in the National Safrinha Corn Seminar, held in Londrina (organized by the Brazilian Association of Maize and Sorghum and the Association of Agronomists of Londrina), to meet friends, and to discuss the problems of corn stunting diseases and viruses.

It was a great pleasure to take part in the thesis defense committee of Dr. Euclides Vilanova (ESALQ/USP). I wish Euclides success in his career.

A recent study on Phaseolus vulgaris infected by Colletotrichum lindemuthianum reveals how specific microRNAs regulate defense pathways. These findings shed light on the fine-tuned molecular dialogue between host and pathogen.
