I sit here, watching the sky lighten for false dawn. Fell asleep at 1, woke back up at 2. Can’t lie down, body firmly objects. Pillows stacked 5 high, no sleep. At least the cats have made enough peace to both keep me company on opposite corners of the bed. Wish me luck today; I’m going to need it.

Awake before alarm (and several times during the night) because my brain won’t stop writing obituaries in spite knowing that I have a full and exciting day planned today and really need my sleep.

Every time someone asks me how am I doing
A person isn’t valid because they are productive, healthy, contributing members of society. Everyone should have access to food, shelter, clean water, safety, medical attention, and enrichment. I just don’t understand people who think this is controversial. How can people be that devoid of empathy?

2 things that I realized this week: Our cats have a better understanding of boundaries than our parents, and are also easier to herd than my cousins. None of this is particularly new or surprising information, but both have been in stark display this week.

I’ll be offline and out of contact 2/26 from 7am till probably 4pm and again on 3/12. If I manage to get a hold of an electronic device and contact you do not trust whatever I say. I will not remember the conversation. Tell me to hang up and go back to sleep. Sedation dentistry is fun that way.
