My favorite person, my son. 💙 The reason I keep fighting the good fight, even amongst all the bullshit in this world. 💙💙

As a genealogist, family historian and keeper of the past, I am gutted to see the National Archivist Colleen J. Shogan, was fired. No reasoning. No cause. No explanation. It's clear the path being taken and I am beyond disgusted. We must protect the National Archives and the millions of records.

Working for the DOJ is a dream for me, to work as a criminal paralegal. I worked hard to get here and love my work. It's been a weird time lately as you all can imagine. Regardless of the chaos, the work must be done and justice served. Keep on keeping on my friends! #paralegal #DOJ #criminal

Dorothy B. Porter changed libraries 💜

The Dewey Decimal System used to only have two classifications for Black people: 325 (colonization) & 326 (slavery). Each book by a Black person was put into one of these classifications. A book of poetry? Classified as colonization.

Today in US History: On Feb. 3, 1870, the 15th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution was ratified, granted black men the right to vote. It was passed by Congress on February 26, 1869. Black Americans were set free by the 13th amendment. The 14th Amendment guaranteed citizenship.

It’s Throwback Thursday so let’s all share a photo/story of an #ancestor! Mine is my maternal grandfather, Dwight. WWII Army Medic, pulling men to safety, getting wounded in the process. Purple Heart & Bronze Stars. I have the shrapnel pulled from his leg framed w/his 💜.
