For a game that is actually quite simple, there is an awful lot of complexity today around how cricket is played and organised. That was how I felt as I left the second conference organised by the Cricket Research Network, held at the ECB's Performance Centre at Loughborough University earlier this year. Player mental health, corruption and illegal betting, human rights and equality, as well as the governance of the game were just some of the always interesting, and sometimes controversial, topics discussed at the one-day event, attended by a broad mix of academics, students and others involved and interested in cricket.

“Cricket in 2035: What Could It Look Like?”

Interested in presenting? Our Call for Papers is now LIVE!
We are seeking proposals for individual paper proposals (max 20 minutes) or themed panels of 2-4 presentations. We welcome presentations from PGRs, ECRs, independent researchers and non-academics. If you would like to present your research, please email Raf Nicholson on rnicholson@bournemouth.ac.uk with your name, title, a 200 word summary of what you propose to talk about & a short biography (max 50 words). The deadline to apply is Friday 22 November.
