Besides its hateful tone, this congresswoman has no idea what she's saying. Due process determines if you violated a law. Otherwise how do you know?
Indiana congresswoman says, “You violated the law, you don’t get due process.” These are the same lawmakers who oppose Red Flag Laws because they don’t provide armed domestic abusers with … due process.

This will end with kids dying and being left damaged and disabled for life by diseases basic science has cured. RFK Jr will be gone sooner or later (ideally sooner) but nothing will bring those kids back or repair the damage done to their families.
Robert F. Kennedy’s Jr. war on vaccines just landed another major blow as the secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services successfully forced one of the nation’s top vaccine officials out of his position.
“Spiraling deeper and deeper into danger”: RFK Jr. forces out top vaccine official
“It has become clear that truth and transparency are not desired by the secretary, but rather he wishes subservient confirmation of his misinformation and lies."

Just in NIH grants, It looks like beautiful Iowa City, home of the U of Iowa, will lose $71m in funding. That's almost $1k per resident. And that's before all the other cuts to SSA, FDA, etc.

Anyone in Iowa City that can offer more insight?

Many Dem consultants urge adopting bad GOP positions.

Better to adopt proven GOP tactics. Republicans made issues out of nothing through repetition and outrage.

A national security breach implying many more (Signal? Not DoD comms?) must be made into an issue by Dems. It won't just become one.

Yep. Federal records. You're supposed to protect them, not delete them.
Tom, correct me if I’m wrong here… but doesn’t Signal delete conversations after a period? Thus, circumventing FOIA? Isn’t that another MASSIVE violation of Government Communications?

The Trump administration has deported over 200 Venezuelans from the United States to a sprawling prison in El Salvador, even as a federal judge ordered their return to the US reut.rs/4ixFXEU
Trump administration deports Venezeulans despite court order, says judge has no authority
Trump invoked the 1798 Alien Enemies Act to rapidly deport alleged members of the Tren de Aragua criminal organization. A federal judge blocked the law's application a day later.

👇🎯 This. It's a full-blown Article I and Article III constitutional crisis, & the sooner everyone realizes we're already well under way in our collapse into authoritarianism, the better.
Let’s get out of this lawyer mentality—& I fully respect lawyers—to understand how authoritarian regimes operate.

The administration was *not* playing games. The administration fully understood the ruling, & fully ignored it.

What the administration was saying is: whatcha gonna do about it?
The argument the administration seems to be settling on – that the planes had gone into international airspace – is ludicrous. If the executive had power to act, the judiciary had power to enjoin. But even setting the merits to the side, it makes it look as if the administration was playing games.

Dem senators' cloyingly earnest threads imploring voters to understand that this wasn't the time to fight would ring a lot less hollow if they included the barest shred of a hint that they will actually offer up a fight at some point, any point, over the next four years.
I voted against the horrible MAGA “continuing resolution” — a fake and partisan CR loaded up with executive power for Trump. I hated it. But respected colleagues voted otherwise, and not just to “cave in” versus “stand up.” 🧵

My sense is that the administration has been looking for the optimal case in which to pull an Andrew Jackson — they may think this is it.
This is outrageous. Judge Boasberg’s order went against government agencies which were in the US, and which were in direct contact with the plane. He must hold them in contempt of court.

As a lawyer, this sort of ignorance/hostility towards the rule of law is so scary.

Federal judges have always had ideological leanings, but they fairly interpret & enforce the law far more often than not. Trump and Musk (and Rubio) are telling us they want absolute executive power.

Believe them.

Scientists have just cured pancreatic cancer in some patients with personalized mRNA vaccines. Pancreatic cancer. And this Trump administration wants to throw it all away.

They’re throwing away a cure for cancer.
Exclusive: NIH officials have advised scientists to remove reference to mRNA vaccines from their grant applications, in expectation the Trump administration intends to abandon most research in the field.

This is how our government has been corrupted:

1) Donors give huge sums to elect politicians to office.
2) Elected officials rewrite the rules in the donors' favor.
3) Donors make a huge profit.
4) Repeat.

For the sake of democracy, we must get Big Money out of politics.
