TwitchCon PSA (a thread)! TC is a very fun event, but it does have some issues because of the possible parasocial problems that come with the streaming territory. Please keep the following points in mind! (This is more geared towards "viewers" but also fellow streamers.)

Sorry I haven't streamed for a bit. It's been way too hot here in Portland and my studio has yet to cool down properly (no AC in the room). I got a new fan with a thermastat and it is currently 81 degrees in the space. Streaming makes everything even hotter... so yeah. Hope to see you all soon!

I took a video of a local trans band near me last week. posted it to YouTube. The dislike count is significant (5 dislikes vs 8 likes) and I already deleted one transphobic comment.

One idea I've been toying with for the last 20 years is a record label like company that is a co-op with the artists signed to it and the workers. All money would be profit shared across everyone involved.
I'm kind of shocked that this still doesn't exist.

A lot of people talk about exposure bucks, or not to take deals based JUST on exposure. Well I disagree. Exposure can do a lot when it's enough people. I'd look at how large the opportunity is and think of it as $3.5 per 1k people that will be exposed by the opportunity.
