I feel naked—there’s no soft wrapping around my nub. I also feel bad. I should have been more careful, and ultimately, this has been a failure to meet my personal goals.
Being away from home makes it worse. Not being caged feels like I’m missing a part of home I carry with me everywhere.

This time, I needed to wash the cage more thoroughly and put it in the dishwasher. I had an early train to catch and forgot to put it back on.
