I know what you mean. I think the universal input delay is 3 frames, which is a little high, but I'm not sure if it's enough to explain some of the stuff I've seen

I think it's interesting to find similarities all over the place. But the most useful thing I think is not overestimating myself, intense 1v1 competition is inherently humbling and disillusioning. Humans tend to have a little bit of protagonist syndrome but 1v1 strips that away pretty fast.

Casuals have less strict MMR matching. That goes both ways, you might get matched with much worse or someone much better. If you want a better chance of playing the game, you should do ranked.

The prejudice is real and unfounded.
Modern, too. I think it's safe to say it's been decided that Modern controls might not be the optimal play style but they have distinct advantages and if you started your career as a beginner on Modern there's no rush to get off of them unless you want to.
