Just a typical childless cat dad married to a childless cat lady. Los Angeles (Koreatown) resident. Originally from Buchannon, WV and Killbuck, OH (my parents had a thing for Bucks apparently).
The kind of name that you confirm is real only in an incognito tab.

Don't forget the regular episode! Unless you took the time off.

Maybe some people are Sterling engines and need the heat from the monitor to keep moving.

See this IS a classy guy and not someone who is fixing your kitchen sink and going, "the joker has a point you know..."

See a crazy person IS fun - if you're not the one interacting with them.

I KNOW how to read this but I choose not to. It's:

Jusus Loves The Bad Guys Joker?
And the license is: Nof Arts

As an outsider (I'm on the west coast), Baltimore and Philadelphia seem to compete for the most, "Come at me bro" cities.

Cats and especially kittens really do make you think of any flat surface, no matter how high, as place where a cat can be.

Oh man, we're going to see Ted totally not defend his wife and kids again aren't we?

What a weird person he is.

Oh! Dang. I don't know why fried chicken places in K-Town keep coming and going. They never seem to stay. Maybe it's because the costs are high but people expect it to be a cheap food?

Craiglist playing a major role of the information collapse was NOT on my bingo card.
November 17, 2025 at 5:32 PM
Oh! Will check it out the Vermont/8th. If the place isn't there we can just go to Chimac Star or The Prince :D

Thanks again!

We just make friends park at the cheap garage next to our apartment and then we walk. Our Sierra Club type friends are like, "Sure! I need to do my 20k steps today." The normal Angelenos are like, "Walk? Like we're peasants!?"

You just have to dodge dog shit and deal with noisy ass diarrhea cars.
November 17, 2025 at 5:27 PM
That sounds awesome! I will have to look it up and see if I can find them. Because I live near Wilshire - and I haven't seen them here.

There used to be a guy with a brick oven in the bed of his old pickup truck that made some of the best Neopolitan-ish pizza in LA. But I haven't seen him lately.

Wait - street chicken? Nani?

Elon probably doesn't even understand what a primary source is.

Like arguing over the role of slavery for the Civil War. Lost Causer will say, "My uncle says that soldiers fought for the south not for slavery."

"This bag of letters from Johnny Reb says otherwise."

"Buy my uncle said..."
November 17, 2025 at 5:14 PM
You can always take the Red (B) line to Wilshire/Vermont!

But you traded Bibimbap for Tacos :D

I worked hard to learn about evidence based skepticism.

I try to check my biases and my actual knowledge on subjects all of the time.

I am suspicious of conspiracy theories.

But man, it sure seems like owner class conspiring to have tax breaks and authoritarianism is a side benefit.

A traffic expert would have better input, but I feel like a scramble would help that (with no turn on red). There is one by MacArthur Park and that is a LOT less stressful with the traffic and people.

You still get the, "Don't tell me what to do" person who crosses but that's city living.
November 16, 2025 at 6:42 PM
1/x ... Also making things more pedestrian friendly would make driving a better experience. We still live in LA, so we still have a single car.

Sometimes trying to make a right at Wilshire/Normandie or Wilshire/Western is stressful because of pedestrians and the honking Sherman Tank behind you.
November 16, 2025 at 6:41 PM
I live in the most dense neighborhood of LA (Koreatown) and I get the sense that any attempts to make this place more pedestrian friendly for the people who LIVE here gets push back by car-brains who DO NOT live here.

Angelenos seem alien to the idea of parking at a garage and WALKING.

It's deniability. They can say they aren't a Nazi supporter (with the older one).
November 16, 2025 at 4:30 PM
It's as if people who lack retrospection, desire to cooperate, and any skill to just fucking listen are going to attack any target they can.
November 16, 2025 at 4:18 PM
Being a Koreatown resident means I am both a pedestrian AND a driver. So anything that slows me down as a driver makes ME safer for others.

Genuine question: How can we push the city to put scrambles at Wilshire/Western and Wilshire/Normandie? Again, I want this as a driver and as a pedestrian .
