It needs some re-engineering if I make another go of it... the thing about caramel is that it becomes an industrial adhesive at a certain point. I'm not sure this was actually a pie, I think I made candy.

Lol nah it's a couple of layers of lazy loop de loops that looks ok from this angle. The larger piping nozzle was having an intimate encounter with a knocked over and leaking container of blue-green food coloring, so I made do with a too-small fitting. But! I did not break the piping bag this time!

And my darling monstrosity: the Gingerbread caramel cookie custard pie with brown sugar cream cheese frosting and candied ginger. It was sticky, it needed a strong knife, it could need a warning label for diabetics.

And I'm tilting at a windmill: somewhere in the pecan-chess-shoefly family, w/ a gingerbread spice profile & enough molasses to make it dark and decadent. Piped cream cheese frosting rosettes sprinkled with candied ginger.
