The pandemic gave rise to so much charlatanism, not the least of which was about education and schooling. I also don't think we should underestimate the impact of legitimate post-COVID education crises being folded into moral panics promising easy solutions.

I was an Sl/P in an elementary school for 13 years, then a classroom teacher for 11 more. We need to drop the idea that there is ONE WAY to teach reading. There is no secret, magic approach. Kids use phonetic, semantic, syntactic cues + personal experience to read. LET teachers teach!!!
