Both attackers and defenders can wield these tools, but the challenges faced by U.S. infrastructure operators in software modernization and cybersecurity regulation mean that attackers are exploiting vulnerabilities faster than defenders can patch them.

My latest report finds that open-source #AgenticAI #cyber tools have been downloaded 21.4 million times over the past six months; monthly downloads increased 50% from March to September 2025. Downloads of these tools are rapidly catching up to shares of ALL physical malware online.

Report author here! Thank you for sharing. Several topics had to be excluded from the report due to space constraints, including Tibetan independence, election interference, and information control in Xinjiang. All had fascinating responses, so I highly encourage others to repeat our experiments.

Far from being a "scrappy start-up," #DeepSeek is the golden child of China's whole-of-government #AI strategy. The company was struggling to stay above water in 2021, like many other private sector firms in China. But when #SASAC stepped in, suddenly they were awash with state capital and support.
