Among the material devastation to everyday people, Senate Dems have now blown a hole in their ability to work with the House.

We had an agreed upon plan, House took immense risk, then Senate turned around midway and destroyed it w/ a fear-based, inexplicable abdication.

They own what happens next.

american masculinity is so amazing. caring about clothes as a man apparently makes you "gay" but our position on geopolitics totally depends on whether you wear a suit

HELLA BASIC BLOCKS

In my efforts to bring you more FREE creative projects this year, I am kicking off my new quilt block series! It’s affectionately called the Hella Basic Blocks and every other month I’ll be dropping a new basic block tutorial. To kick it off, let’s make the classic Nine Patch!

He’s literally saying all Palestinians should be removed from Gaza via ethnic cleansing, forced to move to neighboring countries who do not have the space to house them, and that America should take over Gaza. That’s what your moral superiority got you.

Elon Musk—an unelected billionaire with a long list of conflicts of interest and deep ties to China—is hijacking our nation's checkbook so he can block funds that help the American people.

It's corrupt—and it's putting our economy & the most at-risk communities in jeopardy.

the disconnect between elected Dems (business as usual) and the base (boiling mad) is about as big as I've ever seen it

I don't know how this eventually gets resolved but it's not a sustainable equilibrium

1000% this. Public libraries are actually pretty radical--free to all, and based on the idea that info should be available to all. Get a library card! Use your library! Those numbers often play into their funding.
I also keep thinking that we have to support our libraries.

I’m thinking of not only making a new backpack for QuiltCon but drafting my own pattern.

Someone PLEASE talk me out of it.

There is a Guardian article about this with an interview with a farmer who said 2 white folks showed up to work, double counted everything they picked, and lasted half a shift.

What is happening now is cruel. What was already happening was also cruel. Everything about this is broken.
Several years ago, Alabama decided to get "tough" on immigration and pulled this shit.

They stopped when crops were rotting in the fields and Billy Bob started crying that he couldn't buy his Wal-Mart tomatoes for cheap anymore.

When a single billionaire can accumulate more money in 10 seconds than their employees make in one year, while workers struggle to meet the basic cost of rent and medicine, then yes, every billionaire really is a policy failure.

SHARE WIDELY.
KNOW YOUR RIGHTS.

With mass deportations starting today across the country, it is vitally important - for both citizens and non-citizens - to know your rights.

You have the right to remain silent. Assert it. You have the right to a lawyer. Ask for one.

Don't forget to add alt text to your images. There's even a helpful setting you can turn on that makes it required, which saves my bacon a lot because I forget sometimes in haste.

Another look at my Pandamonium blocks — if you saw my IG reel then you know the yellow blocks are missing and that’s because I originally had a different color set here but the contrast was off so I made all new blocks, as one does 😂 #quilt
