I poached some chicken breasts with a couple of bay leaves and they definitely taste like bay! I think people who don’t believe bay leaves have a taste just have super old ones.

I canNOT deal with people using LLMs for recipes and being confused when they don’t turn out.

Re-blocked the squares side with wires and pins, much happier with it. But then I realized the lining was too tight, so I ripped that out to knit again on larger needles 🙃

Made some middle of the week chocolate cake, because why not? Cocoa yogurt cake from Snacking Cakes, with a chocolate icing from Snacking Bakes! 😂

Had a bout of blurry vision yesterday, so booked an eye exam for today. I was overdue anyway. Everything was fine and healthy, prescription didn’t change much, probably just ocular migraine. At least now I have a baseline retinal scan since I got the Graves diagnosis.

Coming Friday: the Blantyre cardigan pattern! A lovely lace cardigan with all over lace patterns and a v-neck. The body is knit flat in pieces and seamed before picking up to work the sleeves in the round. 10 sizes up to 66” chest.

I should’ve striped in the different dye lot into the brioche section so I’d have enough of the original dye lot for the sleeves and bands. But am I willing to rip all that out? 🫣

Recently watched Future Man and although it’s quite vulgar/raunchy (produced by Seth Rogan) it was really good! Wolf is the best character by far.

Tried Indomie Mi Goreng today for the first time (somehow!) and it was very tasty. Kept it pretty simple with corn and edamame, and a fried egg.

Went to the Korean grocery for kimchi, gimbap, fried chicken and rice cakes. Now I think it’s time to sit on the couch and knit!
