As a footnote, maybe now it makes more sense why political movements like MAGA find so much resonance with a certain demographic? Because this is historically how they've always been, and unlikely to change.

The sound of Evelyn King and D Train was the prophetic sound of a future they were denied.

2/2 You may want to make it your business to read this scathing article linked, which basically explains why and how Black music makers and artists were shamelessly robbed of the exposure they deserved back in the early 80's, with that sound finally becoming trendy now!

Evelyn King "I'm In Love" (1981)

1/2 This release blindsided most people! Without any play from MTV, electronic soul changed the NYC landscape in ways which are only now acknowledged 40 years later by the like of Sabrina Carpenter or Bruno Mars. Dope

PSA: Co-Op seem to have changed their donut making technique. Much improved. Highly recommended.

Came here to escape all the right wing nutters on Twitter but it’s just a quiet gaff where I get all of the terrible shit going on reposted to my feed alongside it being deadly boring because nobodies saying anything.

Woman at work asked our Nigerian colleague if he’s ever seen snow earlier. He’s lived in the UK for 20+ years. 🥴

Rave Cave Sessions Vol. 1
General Tunes old and new recorded in the infamous micro-club the Rave Cave. Fairly soulful bit, disco-ish bit, bumpin' bit, fierce bit, deeper bit, older bit.

I’m here full time now. Muskrat’s attempted coup has seen to any final loyalty I had to the old gaff.

What a lineup 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨
As the scene got bigger more and more DJs from New York and out of town would come to play. This was a fun night - ‘92? Great venue as well.

Powerful, revealing and emotional. (1/3)

Discussing Bluesky migration in terms of liberal flight misses the simple fact that most people use social media for fun not influence and this platform, unlike X and cruddified Facebook, doesn’t feel like you’re wading through shit to reach your friends. It’s not that deep.

The Boyband Documentary on the BBC is ace. Still can’t understand how 911 were ever big. Seem like lovely lads though
