“a mental object i.e. mobject”

"skin as part of brain?"

This is that great intellect people talk about?

Last weekend, Kelly and I drove 7 hours (both ways) and waited in line for 13 hours (5 in the rain) to see Halsey on her second tour of the year. It was a magical time that evoked in me contemplation and gratitude. Here's a write-up of the whole experience (and some pics/video)!

This is now my most popular social media post (and piece of writing more generally, I assume) of all time, replacing an old tweet thread about Batman Returns. The amount of people not getting the sarcasm ("that's happening now!") or missing the point ("that's not socialism!") is unfortunate.
Of course I'm worried about socialism. I mean, just imagine if Mamdani one day becomes President and nationalizes industry, imposes historic tax hikes, goes after the media, builds a secret national police force, militarizes the country, and sends people to camps.

I had a run in with ICE snatching a man out of his car while walking my children to school this morning in NW DC

I asked a neighbor to continue walking my kids to school and I turned back to document and confront the ICE agents.

I am in contact with @dcmigrantmutualaid.org with the full video.

Of course I'm worried about antisemitism. I mean, just imagine if Mamdani uses his platform to call Jews "shylocks," accuse Jews of disloyalty, spread conspiracies about "globalist" holocaust survivors, and say he only wants "short guys that wear yarmulkes" counting his money.

Jury nullification is good and it's a good sign for America's path out of authoritarianism that juries are recognizing their power to nullify.

Between No Kings and Markets & Society, this weekend was a nice reminder that there are still people who believe in freedom in this country.

I showed Roderick Long Bo Burnham's "Welcome to the Internet" the last time we were together and this weekend he kept leaning over during panels and whisper-singing into my ear "Obama sent the immigrants to vaccinate your kids."

Very interesting discussion by @corymassimino.bsky.social arguing liberal socialism should be left-anarchist. Worth pondering.

Giving a talk on anarchism tomorrow right outside DC and at the same time as the No Kings protest. Something, something… diversity of tactics?

I'm honored and humbled to be presenting alongside these folks this weekend. Please, come say hello if you're at the conference!
