i think it's meant to be. like. visually accessible? you can see exactly what killed you at any time. the level doesn't hide anything - hell, it gives you 5 screens worth of futurevision.
this point does get immediately discarded when one of the level's giant falls is mentioned, though.

it's defined in metres now they just based it on what light was doing normally, meaning if the light doesn't feel like it, it can choose to invalidate the term as being Comically Wrong !
