Brilliant. Thank you so much for your kind answer. I thought it should be that way because trans feels invasive and irrelevant (to me) but then I keep seeing ‘trans man’ and ‘trans woman’ on the internet and wondered if something had changed and perhaps I had got old and out of touch

It’s such a personal thing that flagging it up for public debate seems awkward. Is it ok to just say man or woman depending on what the person identifies as?

It’s a theoretical question but I’d like to get it right because I don’t like hurting people through ignorance
