i’m being so serious. almost every stem has a bud developing. some have two. neglect your holiday cactus bc not only will it bloom, but you will probably get mildly annoyed by how many blooms there are
foreground: a holiday cactus bloom on the end of a verdant stem. it’s tall, with bright pink petals and a matching pink pistil poking out of the tip. small yellow stamens are also visible next to the pistil. to the left of this stem, another bright pink bud that looks ready to bloom caps the end of another stem. many stem segments have bite marks in them, but no missing chunks, because my cat is an asshole. background: the rest of the cactus sitting in some soil in a gray pot, with a green christmas-themed ribbon tied around the top. also visible is the last surviving section of my lithops and the flimsy, lifeless remains of a pothos my cat chewed 90% of, again on account of being an asshole.
