I couldn’t march on Saturday. I’m working on a boat in Alaska. I was moved by Gavin Newsom‘s words, urging us to resist in whatever form it takes or we can. Somehow it compelled me to finish this hard piece to write; to honor my friend Jesús, and so many others.

Hard to know where the art ends and the mess starts or if those boundaries matter… First time even pretending to play with paper and glue in years. Feels good but I miss the old realm of social media —as a place to be silly and share this sweet moment. But then these days I miss sweet silly moments…
