The totalitarian mind works on the premise that if you agree 90 percent on a subject, you are still an enemy, because any divergent viewpoint represents a threat to the totalist worldview. Pick any topic, it's always the same.

Was the more than 20-fold rise in trans identities since 2010 the result of people finally feeling free to express their authentic selves? Or was it a social contagion?

"Internalized transphobia" is a pretty interesting idea. It weaponized the innate and justifiable insecurity that develops from pretending to be the opposite sex, justifying deeper commitments to social and medical transition. The warning signal gets misinterpreted; our doubts become our guidance.

The young males who were puberty-blocked and surgically modified to resemble girls are not thriving. We should have the courage to understand what's happening.
