I had this matchbox Sable.
I played with it outside and most the white paint had come off. The tailgate also no longer closed.

I always thought this 1987 Matchbox Mercury Sable had an oval on the tailgate because they initially planned to make it a Taurus but then I was reminded that in some markets the Taurus used the Sable front fascia with Ford badges in the back which I hadn’t even considered.

The Eclipse was old by that time, but I was in a poor town in Indiana and had not seen a new one yet. Most of the town was still driving domestic early 90s stuff anyway.

If only there were a clear material which could be used to create a sort of "back window" for this vehicle. Maybe someday.
