I feel like I’ve told the story of my mom’s death and how she’d be alive today if the ACA had been enacted a year earlier over and over again and I don’t have the energy to do it again, but trading the ACA to reinstate SNAP benefits is a fool’s bargain. We can feed people AND give them health care.

Last night the novel I'm reading had realistic descriptions of a war PTSD flashback and it gave me an emotional flashback. The weight of it just settled back on me. "Wow, that really happened, it was really that fucked up," I kept thinking. It has disrupted so much. I used to be so different.
