“Flake” is apparently the proper term for a songle popped piece of popcorn; had to look that up. “Kernel” is of course the term used to refer to an unpopped piece of popcorn– popcorn at rest, as it were. The popcorn of inertia. (end)

Here we’re running through her percussion arsenal to collect impacts and textures from assorted drums, shakers, and metals. This particular instrument is known, I believe, as a tongue drum. <end>

Previously we did a whole session of a capella recordings where she improvised breaths and pitches that spanned about the entire gamut of what the human voice can do. <more>
