Sujit Patil is a Senior Research Fellow at the Department of Botany at The New College Kolhapur Maharashtra, India. He is working on the systematics of the Merremieae tribe from India, and studies Morphology, Palynology, Seedling Morphology and Cytology.

Dr. Choudhary has conducted extensive research across all four biodiversity hotspots in India. As a pioneer in molecular phylogeny of Indian plants, his recent focus includes the Eriocaulaceae, Capparaceae, and Smilacaceae families.

A new paper is out 🥳

Two new species of #Maripa are described in the Northern Andean Region of South America. Maripa daironii has been found in Colombia, and Maripa marimba in Ecuador.
