It’s good that moderation of violent rhetoric is viewpoint-neutral. It’s good that moderation doesn’t treat you differently based on blue check or celebrity status.

Polls shows Americans approve of the deal to re-open the government by a wide margin

One way the shutdown deal might actually help Democrats
A plurality of voters approve of the deal to end the government shutdown. Democrats have an opportunity to claim they saved SNAP & other government programs, which could help repair the party's image

The damage done by treating Trump's victory as some sweeping mandate in the first eight months of his term really was massive, but ending that collective delusion - i think with the help of last week's elections - really is having profound impacts.

Are there a lot of journalists still doing great work at the bog companies? Absolutely! But it's like the game industry, i like some EA/Ubisoft AAA games! Is the industry still fundamentally rotten? Yes!!

Come to think of it the whole storyline is astonishingly prescient of how news and discourse works in the age of social media.
Thinking a lot about how everyone in media hated The Wire S5's Templeton storyline, which turned out to be one of the most accurate depictions of modern media creatures.
I see professional media solidarity is back out in full force again

Also why grand conspiracies do not exist. Because if they did there would be an email chain from Jeff in procurement reply alling about how all this demolition stuff is really necessary.
I have this memory during the Jack Abramoff scandal about the incredulity that people felt that the participants would put as baldly as possible in print what they were up to in an email and send it out and over the last twenty years or so since every scandal is like RE:RE:MYILLEGALSEXTAPE.GIF

The lack of understanding (most charitable interpretation) on here between documents that were produced by the estate under subpoena from House Oversight (lol Comer and thank u Ro, I say for the first time ever) recently and what DoJ possesses from investigations/etc is going to drive me batty
When Biden was in the White House, and Democrats controlled both houses of Congress, why did they keep all this Epstein stuff covered up?

Believed it’d be improper, running counter to the goal of restoring public perception of impartiality? That’s the relatively least damning answer I can think of.

One the one hand i think the contextless release of these emails into this online environment is not great, on the other hand the historian that is still on me wants every single famous persons personal email to be available at an archive post-passing.
Yeah again I would be careful about taking the boasts of this guy as a given fact.
A whole lotta liberals who were willing to take Epstein’s money turning off their phones tonight.

Let me be the first to say, as the Active Measures, LLC, that I believe Epstein *may not* be a credible source of information about things Epstein does, including with Russia.

But, we haven't gotten Bleemer and Gorpman in ages, and we deserve a little (as a treat).
NEW: Jeffrey Epstein said in emails that he had been advising the Russian government on how to deal with Donald Trump, one of several cases in which he wielded his connections to try to influence the course of foreign affairs. w @nahaltoosi

Even before today it was pretty clear that 2015/16 was a media failure on the level of Iraq WMD. There never has been any reckoning within media about this and all the people involved just secured their bag.
Looked up what Chozik is up to these days after her HBO Max series about the 2016 campaign thankfully flopped and you cannot fail at a certain point anymore lol

Let's do another round of podcasts and discourse tho how Dems need the Rogan of the left or incel programs to win the youth instead of looking at these campaigns and learn from them
(what the professionals hopefully will do, if they are not too online)

HD-41 voted for Trump by around 3% in 2024

Lily Franklin ran a textbook campaign on how to turn out young voters

But she also persuaded them to back Dems after it was close last year

A lot Dems can learn from her campaign about organizing on campus
