Maddening. I've been receiving racquetball scheduling notifications from a friend group for many years, & it doesn't matter how many times I say "I'm not that Cara Chapel," they just keep coming. X-D I have always hated the way Brits pronounce that word-- any and every British pronunciation variant, but especially received pronunciation. (And some American variants, too. "Wutter" is especially annoying. It has an A in it, dammit!)

I lived through that kind of thing too. Same state; a little earlier. Last one I got? The teacher was jealous that a pre-legal guy she had her eye on was flirting with me. Later she eloped with a barely-legal post-high school boy who looked just like him. Glad corporal punishment is illegal now. >_<

Dude, at least they emailed you. I may be in a different field with different conventions, but haven't heard one single peep of acknowledgment of any kind from any job I've applied for during the past four or five years. A rejection letter politely gives you much-needed closure.

IKR?! One time I was walking down the hall to my office; I'd come in super early... and a red balloon was floating next to the mostly disused stairwell near my door. I NOPEd my way right back out and did not return until it was gone and the hall was full of people. X-D

And I'd like to stress I'm not a moderate in the Schumer sense; I'm a lot farther left than that. But I can still see good points from both my friends' sides, and I think, honestly, that their extremes are both pretty damn objectionable even if they're bad in very different ways.

Puppies are great but they're not a remedy for stress. They require potty training, destroy your personal items, and are very demanding of time and attention. If you're in a stressy place already this is not the time for taking on more responsibility-- especially if your wife doesn't want to help.
