Galway City Building of the Month for August is the former Parkaveara Lock Keeper's House, 12 Dominick Street Upper (RPS.3301).

The building was constructed as part of the Eglington Canal project (1848-1852) to serve the Parkaveara Lock which is located a short distance away.

#HandsOnTrad - Last Saturday was a really special day at Fahy's Farm / Feirm Úi Fhathaigh in Galway City.
This was the first traditional building skills event to be held there, and hopefully this is just the beginning of nudging this beautiful vernacular farm complex awake.

Happy Bloomsday! Galway City Building of the Month for June is Nora Barnacle's home house, No.8 Bowling Green (RPS.1301). Nora was married to James Joyce, who often visited this little house.
