If its quiet in the house we can hear the trumpeting swans. I took little Archie out to check on the swans this morning morning and he had to kick it in 4 paw drive to get there 1st! I love living out on the prarie its so beautiful - like out of a painting. #yorkie #dogs

I laugh when my mom compliments my cracker selection. I just buy a box of “entertainment” crackers from Walmart. This time I got a big box from Costco — some Norwegian salmon, meats, cheeses - olives and some red and white wine.

I am awake and doing “meat math” - no one likes turkey here. Living in turkey country - you get enough year round! So we are opting for prime rib and ham - as we are not a big group. I have some amazing things for charcuterie before dinner tonight. We have never done a 6pm meal always a noon.

After a week in the ICU in multiple hospitals I'm thrilled to announce that my sweet hubby is home. 🫶🏻

The wind has been terrible over night. It makes our labradude very uneasy. Poor guy shivers when the wind howls. Our super senior shih poo can’t hear squat, and Archie could care less — so that helps. We had a long night comforting the world best big dog.

I used a basil dough that I picked up from the bakery and hand tossed it. Added some Genoa salami and Canadian bacon along with some zesty tomato sauce. I used thin sliced mozzarella and topped it with a few sliced olives.

The boys and I were just out enjoying some outside time with my boys. The orange throwing thing is Ollie’s favorite toy in the lake. Ryan has been fighting exhaustion so I took the challenge to wear out my big boy! It was a job well done. Mission accomplished! #dogs #yorkie #doodle

I had a wonderful sit by my fire pit last night. It was the perfect weather for a lakeside fire and a glass or two of pino. I was hit with such immense gratitude for the people in my life and how peaceful life out at the lake is.

I seasoned my ground beef with McCormicks smash burger seasoning. My cheese is Wisconsins finest Red Apple gruyere and cheddar cheeses. My buns are going to be steam toasted with the tovalla. It’s not Matt’s but it’s as close to that as I can get.

For the Labor Day holiday I am going to host my family. I am going to make hamburgers and jucy lucys. Use the air frying setting in my oven for curly fries and onion rings. Then for dessert I am going to break out the Klondike bars. I am going to make a pan of rice crispie treats and call it good!
