On the "three mantras of Long DH" (Futurebuilding DH) from Johannes Burgers:
1) "go slow and build things",
2) "teamwork makes the dreamwork, but nagging helps" (people-first proj management),
3) "love your data like you love yourself" (tech changes, data doesn't; set your data free!). #ACH2025

An email is on its way out to our members regarding strategies for navigating cuts to federal grant funding. However, we wanted to share that information here as well. We have aggregated information for actions regarding NEH grants, which include broader strategies as well.

Last night's loose, flowy watercolor. I am rapidly running through my paper. Maybe it's time to pick up 2 watercolor sketchbooks (one for me, one for my daughter).

There's nothing like loose, messy watercolor to help me let go of perfectionism. Do I like it? I don't know. It was fun to do, and I want to do more.

It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office.

Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc.

Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.

Punxsutawney Phil may have predicted more winter, but at least that is better than the time I drove home on a Groundhog Day only to find groundhog roadkill on the road to my apartment.
