I recall reading once about a single father who took out an 80-year mortgage to finance the custom construction of a ship to act as the center of his small business. He went missing and is presumed dead, and now his son has to pay it off.

the FFV protagonist's name being Butz/Bartz came up in a discussion so I made this to get it out of my head
