At the end of the Conquest saga in the comics and end of Season 3 in the show Mark commits to killing any villain, including his father, if it means saving people because he sees his inaction as leading to more death.

Comics are notorious for wanton destruction being commonplace and never truly weighs on our heroes.
Superman v Braniac levels Metropolis? No matter, Kal-El won.
At least with Invincible our characters feel guilt and change because of the violence around them.

I disagree.
While The Boys is a prime example of violence and gore for the sake of it, Invincible makes characters deal with the destruction that happens around them.
Mark feels the weight of the deaths around him and makes the general populace more than just fodder for the story.
At least, imo.
