this is why i pushed my workplace towards unionizing. do all of the below but also genuinely if you're in a job that could unionize but isnt, its HARD work to organize but soooo fucking rewarding, and more accessible than you think. KC has a kickass tenant union also for my local followers
Realistically? Build community networks. Research local charities. Learn low cost food recipes and make physical copies. See what services your library offers. Consider access to media, including physical. Find a rec center. Greet your neighbors, borrow things if you can. Learn local tenant laws.
if you were wondering how to prepare for a recession, the advice on the internet is “have a lot of liquid savings” and “don’t lose your job” 👍 very helpful, who could have predicted “having money saved” and “having income” would help a situation
