I love tree roots. They remind me to stay rooted in all that gives me life. Especially these days. ancestors. I learned that giant sequoia trees have relatively shallow roots. They stand firm through storms because their roots are so intertwined. They hold each other up. Lovely metaphor for humans!

I love watching the butterflies visit our flowers. The closer to the end of summer, the more butterflies come. For this lover of long days of light, it's bittersweet. I still cherish the butterflies!
