Perhaps instead of elevating Charlie Kirk to sainthood in a press conference, officials in Utah could lament the inexcusable murder, urge Americans to self-reflect, and recognize that some of Kirk's rhetoric was hate fomenting hate.

For survivors of trauma whose equilibrium and capacity to cope feel swept up in the toxic Trump tidal wave of destruction...

So proud to have voted for Kamala. So gutted at how right she was all along. SO DISGUSTED at the millions who still refuse to see the tsunami of toxicity and terror washing over this nation.

I miss the days when Christians were known for something other than petty, performative outrage.

Just a word about the collective trauma of our vulnerable populations—on the day when Trump says he might rethink parts of the "selection process" for mass deportations. (Likely because rich people are losing their cheap labor.)

I'm nauseous. This despot is using the law and military force to restrict free speech, unleash state-sponsored aggression, corrupt our democracy and rewrite America's identity around the world...while his "Christian" minions stand by and laud his inhumanity.

Follow up to last post about #HandsOff DuPage County: the tone was so positive! Counter-protestors tried to drum up conflict, but were met with rolled eyes and giggles. Can this day of action be the beginning of a national shift back to the power of the people…? #thereishope 🇺🇸

First time participating in any kind of protest. HUGE turnout! I went with trepidation, not sure what I’d find. It was Hope, and love, and resistance, and good trouble. A spiritual experience in so many ways. #handsoff2025 #DupageCounty

Got home from #Canada a week ago and can confirm. Proud of my family and friends in the Great North Strong and Free. #ElbowsUp

Can it be any clearer that Trump wants to do to sovereign nations what he's admitted to doing to women? Just grab 'em and see if they put up a fight. Hey, hoser. Canada's not afraid to kick you where it hurts. #OCanada #TrueNorthStrongAndFree

As always, clear and compelling historical analysis by Heather Cox Richardson. (If you subscribe to her daily news email, you'll be better—and smarter—for it!)

I’m certainly not in agreement with everything happening in the True North Strong and Free, but I will always side with the victim in an unjustified attack. Canada has been a sacrificial friend & ally in the worst of times, and this is unconscionable.

This man displayed the kind of strength he speaks of here throughout his life. Are there any Jimmy Carters left in politics?

The shame I feel for this. Causing death rather than using less than 1% of our federal spending to save them.

"But she laughed weird..."

(And don't bring up abortion. They demonstrably go DOWN under democrats because people aren't terrified of the present and the future.)

This idea is not original to me, but it rings true. The past few weeks have felt like watching those planes hitting the towers over & over & over & over again...with no end in sight.

It's okay to prioritize your mental health, friend. To turn off the news. To meditate. To up your meds. It's okay.

"If a picture paints a thousand words..."

Appalled and enraged today—again. The lies and manipulation are so blatant and the supporters are so blind.

There is so much to say about Musk turning our collective backs on the poor and helpless, and now Trump is planning to prostitute our name and history on the Red Square by validating an abusive tyrant...? We've reached the bottom and picked up a shovel. It hurts in my bones and spirit.

Contemplating Psalm 146 today and pondering ways I can step boldly into these truths, not just in agreement but in embodiment. And realizing that Jesus has already shown the way: show up, stand up, speak up, act up.
