You might not have caught what just happened on the Senate floor, but the Senate just “deemed as passed” the Epstein resolution.

That means as soon as it arrives from the House, it automatically passes the Senate (with no amendments) and heads to the President’s desk.

Wow.

The reason people think the Democratic Party doesn't actually stand for anything is because it doesn't.

None can be primaried in the next cycle, Shaheen & Durbin retiring.

Hassan, Masto, Fetterman up for reelection in 2028.

Rosen, Kaine, King up for reelection in 2030.

Aspects of our political system which are currently failing and long overdue for reform:

- The two-party system
- The US Senate
- An all-powerful, stand-alone presidency
- A politicized Supreme Court with full veto power over Congress and the executive
Take stock of everything that is failing us right now.

When the moment comes, don’t seek to restore + improve those institutions.

We should replace them.

If a budget deal goes through without restoring Medicaid & ACA subsidies, they will never be restored.

That's a death sentence for millions of Americans but also to the entire republic and economy: Health care is a for-profit business generating TREMENDOUS economic activity & will grind to a halt.

Not even the slightest modicum of surprise that the Dems caved on this. Unequivocal surrender and complete cowardice.

People will die as healthcare premiums skyrocket. And for what? They did this in the aftermath of a blue wave election too! These people learn nothing. Fucking disgusting.
If the Dems blink after all of this, for a deal that all but ensures no ACA subsidies in 2026 anyway, then what was the purpose of letting the shutdown go for 40 days in the first place?

Quick Vent: The recent employment figures make me feel like the job I got a few months ago was equivalent getting the last chopper out of Nam.

At the same time, trying to adjust to how soulless and meaningless corporate America really is has been such a struggle. That's why I've been afk recently.

2 weeks ago, France, Canada, and the UK warned Israel to take "concrete actions" to stop its genocidal war & boost aid into Gaza. Israel responded by shooting at diplomats from 2 dozen nations — including the trio.

Today, Israel intercepted a UK-flagged aid ship with 6 French people on board.

protect your eyes, protect your head. "less lethal" munitions are lethal when fired directly at a human being and cops love to use them this way. pepperballs will take your eye out, a tear gas canister can fracture your skull.
cops will kill you on purpose and by accident, all with impunity.
