Too many hobbies - woodworking, ceramics, brewing, electronics - and these days I'm building The Next Great Programming Language 🤓

My opinions are entirely objective, not at all my own, everyone else shares them.
This is so quintessentially American. Rather than DO something about school shootings, we punish children who joke about them. You don't think these kids are, I don't know, managing and expressing their fears!?

Look at this from Bloomberg - no mention of ballooning to $35/month after the first month.

I would've happily paid $2 for just this one article- I'm here for a date, not to get married.

@infrequently.org I agree with almost everything in infrequently.org/2024/11/if-n..., but listing Airbnb as a react native poster child is disingenuous. They abandoned it in *2018*. I think you need a newer example. Airbnb has distanced themselves from that article (see "Update" below the fold).

Excited to announce the official launch of our online book, WebAssembly from the Ground Up! 🎉

It's the book we wish we'd had 3 years ago.

No messing with tools and frameworks. It's a hands-on guide to the core of Wasm: the instruction set and module format.

So often I try to use some new amazing tool (today it's Cline + Claude 3.7) and within a few minutes my reaction is "this is cute, but I have work to do".

The sweet spot for me is still the very narrow-focused "help me write this function + tests" tasks. Agentic? Not quite ready, imo.

I need to buy some Skype credit today so I could make a phone call to Japan.

Not only did MS cancel the credit system- it's (surprise!) a subscription based service, but every step of the way was buggy and terrible.

Docs still say "buy credits", CC form doesn't allow autofill or autocomplete...
