God, I loved this artist-on-artist conversation with @kellysue.bsky.social so much. We cover everything – from her new comic ‘FML’, to the joys of art and the perils of middle age as an artist, to the need to question everything (including your own creative identity) when you embrace the art life.

'Save the Cat' has done catastrophic damage to Hollywood storytelling and the moviegoing experience in the 21st century - but I have a solution that might just help with your next script. I want you to 'PUT THE CAT IN THE BLENDER' instead. Let me explain before PETA freaks out... 1/2

I really dig the minimalist design of this new INCEPTION (2010) poster. Absolutely belongs on a book cover.

I don’t know who made this, but it’s a hilarious spin on a meme that I suspect will still be going strong when the internet collapses in, like, a year.

Every time a Republican has uttered something like this is an admission of how completely and utterly immoral they are. It's never about justice. It's never about decency or victims. It's always about power - and they can't understand people who don't only care about the same thing.
"This could take down Democrats, too."

I know. And I frankly wouldn't give even an itty bitty damn if it implicated every Democratic man in Congress, every Democratic hopeful for 2028 and every Democrat who has even thought about running for office.

Down with the sex predators, wherever they are.

From the making of THE LORD OF THE RINGS films: That’s Rivendell, brought to life in a parking lot. It’s shit like this that makes me scream about obviously intangible, nonsensical CGI environments in film that make it impossible to emotionally connect to what you’re watching.

THE FABELMANS was released three years ago today. Many describe it as Steven Spielberg’s most personal film, and it is that. But it’s also a deeper conversation the director is having with cinema, artistic expression & even his own oeuvre. To help illustrate this, I’ve broke down several scenes...

This week on 5AM RealTalk, a 5AM StoryTalk plog about the highs and lows of my life as a writer: my new pilot commission, challenging the limitations of screenplay form, wondering if scripts can be literature, 'Sinners' at last, artists as magicians, and much more.

Just Humphrey Bogart hanging out with his dog, wearing socks with fancy sandals, and surrounded by a lot of boar heads, sporting equipment and trophies, and a framed photograph of himself (1946). I have no idea what is happening here, but I love every detail about it.
