#OnThisDay in 1999, when most journalists were cleared out of downtown Seattle during the WTO protests, HistoryLink had the only live feed of the disturbance (one frame per minute) from the webcam in our office window. Learn more about it here: www.historylink.org/File/9203

Back in April while cycling through the streets of Paris I told myself that this was going to be the summer where I get out and ride more regularly. It took me until August before I did that. 105 miles in one month. Not a bad start!

Liberals strongest ability, being able to protest what we don’t like.

Liberals weakest ability, being able to protest what we don’t like, even if it’s a fellow liberal. And even if it means burning everything down to the ground and letting a dictator take over.

Imposter syndrome is the real deal. I’ve had it for the past 25+ years being in the music industry. Even saying that I am in the music industry makes me feel like I’m telling a lie.

@amandaknox.com I know the chances are slim because you’re super busy, but I have to ask. We have a former Ukrainian exchange student who is back in Europe. She’s working for a new organization that is working to create new standards for how media portrays formally incarcerated people.

Here’s an economics lesson for you. I own a vinyl record label. The records we produce are at times pressed in Czech Republic.

With our last pressing, this tariff would cost me $300.

Meaning an increase of $1.00 per record.

Which in turn, would increase the retail price to you, the consumer.

BREAKING NEWS: Trump said his administration will apply a 10% tariff on all imports, and that other trading partners will face additional “reciprocal tariffs” ranging as high as 49%.
Today is Trump's 'Liberation Day.' What does that mean for tariffs?
President Trump has been promising new "reciprocal tariffs" to punish other countries for their tariffs and trade barriers. Markets are nervous that a trade war could hike prices and hurt the economy.

It’s important to learn from history and not repeat the unforgivable parts. But here we are…

Sooo the United States official language is now British English, right? Since that’s the most common form in the world and what was used in the Declaration of Independence.

You know it’s bad when your former Ukrainian exchange student/refugee asks if YOU are safe in America. 🆘

I’m so pissed off at this. After living with a Ukrainian exchange student turned refugee for two years, the amount of respect I have for Ukrainians is massive.🇺🇦 #slavaukraini
