Every time I start to think we’re making progress I get humbled by mentioning I watched an anime movie or I’m into Final Fantasy to a normal person and they instinctively react “ewww that stuff?”

Based on playing the first metroid prime he seems like a tutorial guy for the first area which is fine to me. I feel skeptical about the level of criticism I’ve seen about this.

If you just boil it down to “rebecca sugar was scared to put lesbians in the tv show” it comes across as an incredibly bad faith argument that disregards the complexity of producing a show like that

For a relevant and light example, Adventure Time. They wanted PB and Marceline to be together from relatively early on but weren’t allowed to because of the network, which resulted in what a lot of people perceived as queerbaiting

I really dislike when people attribute all of the writing of a movie or game to the director when there’s usually a number of writers, and that doesn’t even account for executive meddling that can affect the quality of the product

The Netflix version of Evangelion also feels way off without a different version of Fly Me to the Moon at the end of each episode, which is unfortunate because I like the dub a decent amount

I kinda want to watch it but it’s been hyped up to me to a level where I don’t think it can possibly be that good. Happy to be proven wrong though

Yeah like it’s fine not to like it but it’s one of the best regarded gundam shows outside of UC 😭
