knowledge readily available… I eventually resigned from teaching and took a much better private sector position. The school system still is not protecting LGBTQ+ staff or students, they’re sweeping things under rugs. My husband left also and is an LPC at a prison. Education is under attack…

I had the information and knowledge of state code as the union rep and also a member of the state house… they tried to silence me on their faults but were unable to substantiate anything and their intimidation didn’t work. Sadly, many teachers in other red states and the country don’t have this…

I walked in with a binder of documentations and state code they were violating. They tried tirelessly to intimidate and “scare” me but I refused to back down. They also went through my FB page for posts they felt validated their position. I did nothing wrong and made their whole team fold.

Threatened by a student as a sub that they would “kick his Queer ass” the admin refused to talk to me about it, when I challenged them on policy they hauled me into a meeting at the BOE with county admin, school admin, their lawyer, and my union reps to try to intimidate me into shutting up…
