Vegas Update #2: Ended the day with a 3-5 record with almost no practice, hung out and chatted with friends, and the kids didn’t have to play each other! My performance wasn’t great, but the vibes definitely were. Also: got some Detroit-style pizza. #PokemonVGC forever.

I drove out north of town tonight. Unfortunately, the lights didn’t seem to be as far south tonight and there were some wispy clouds on the horizon. I did get this shot, though!

I should have driven somewhere darker than my backyard, but it’s still really wild that I can faintly see them with all the light from GenPak!

Some long exposure of the aurora tonight. You could see them faintly with the naked eye, which is insane for how far south I am!

I’ve been playing Ball x Pit instead of playing the GC, practicing for Vegas next weekend, or finishing Z-A. Some of the combos in this game can get pretty wild, and I’ve bogged it down to about 15 FPS on the Switch 2. I love it.

Traditional first day of the semester selfie. I normally wear a nice button down, but this semester I went a little more aggressive for the first day. I’m taking Philosophy of Education and Theory of Knowledge this semester, as well as Biological Anthropology.

Tonight, I made some bbq sauce and put an 11 pound pork shoulder in to brine overnight. Tomorrow, the pork shoulder becomes pulled pork sandwiches, and I’ll cook up some homemade Mac & cheese to go with them. Should make for a decent birthday bbq with some friends!

Turned 36 today. Had a big silly drink at Chilis to celebrate. Also got an email confirming the kiddos Pokemon World Championship invitation. Pretty solid day!
