A recent widow by a German Shepherd, trying to find direction, as he was my compass.
Retired submariner, audio engineer, and current gov. contractor.
Trying to live a life that lives up to my dogs image of me.
Jamband refugee ❤️
On a gig many years ago, from the lift table on the back of a box truck, I was presented with the “Notable Peas Award in the catagory of Music Production” for sweeping the back of the truck.

An all time favorite of mine.

There is nobody home.
He is the poster boy for rectal leakage

After the recent passing of my rescue GSD, my compass just spun while I floundered.
After visiting this sweet 2.5 yr old Shepsky at the local SPCA every day after work, I noticed that the needle began to settle.
Please meet my new North, “Pumpkin”. As you can see, she is adjusting well… ❤️

His last breath was as soft as the words I whispered into his ear.

He was a kind soul. Children adored him, and he adored every new interaction.
We shared a very good adventure together. Along the way, he gently taught me life lessons. In return, I loved him without boundaries.

Run free, Patrice

In about 24 hours, I am going to whisper goodbye to my closest companion of almost 9 yrs, and though I’ll be okay, I’m currently okay with being not okay.
I got sober to feel.
He brought me my highest highs.
His mute mentorship will get me through these lowest lows.

So many trails, so little time

Every time that we came to a rock scramble, he would go first, and stop so I could put my hand, and some weight on him. It took 3 hours, and I put 8 liters of water through him, and laid him under any manzanita shade that we could find to rest and cool him. ❤️

2019, Iron Mountain.
Enjoying some shade and water on a hike together.
Less then an hour after this picture was taken, I shattered my ankle, 4 miles into the hike.
He saved me that day, getting me home. He was my crutch every step down the mountain.

I’m struggling with his final days, so to curb the ugly-tears, I need to share the smiles.
Always a gentle giant, an ambassador of the breed to every child that he brought a smile to.

Not gonna lie to y’all. This week ahead is going to be painful as hell for me while I say goodbye to my sidekick of 8 yrs on Friday.

A series of miracles kept him from a kill shelter in Shanghai, for him to be sent to me in California.

This photo is taken 3 minutes after we met.

My gramps was in Patton’s 2nd. His bedroom was plastered with pictures of his crews and him, but he slept alone, if he slept. We never had the means to treat the trauma that they experienced.
I did 20 for our Constitution.
I’ve still got plenty of fight left.

Hey Nancy - when you’re ready to learn how to shoot, give me a call. Until then, images like this make you a poser…
September 12, 2025 at 1:35 PM
Nancy Mace is blaming Democrats?!?

With a left hand grip on an AR15 at the mag-well, I’m confident that Nancy was not the shooter…
I’m have zero confidence that she will not gaslight us, but I am confident that she also couldnt hit the ground with her hat.

It is absolutely mind boggling to me to see the hate and threats being hurled by magats over any negative opinion of Charlie Kirk. Absolutely gobsmacked.

Meanwhile the GOP wears AR15 pins on their suit jacket lapels…

Just pulled the bug-out bags for the fur goblin and I from the closet.
I knew it was close when I saw the plume from the highway on the way home.
1.5 NE of me, currently, with evacuating orders already going out.

Exactly as the WSJ reported it…

I grew up in Boston in the late 60’s and early 70’s playing street hockey in the afternoon, and watching the Bruins at night with my grandfather.
Dryden was the crusher of Bruin fans dreams.
Because he was one of the best to ever lace ‘em up.

We all lost a legend.

I was searching for the video, but this is good enough. When I saw it on the news, I thought the SECDEF was spittin’ some bars…
He’s a pathetic embarrassment.

John Bolton has the Epstein files?!?

This is how we begin our weekend. Whipped cream on an ice cube, in a ceramic bowl. When we’re 10 and the arthritis and dysplasia take our hiking away, we adapt to other fun things.
Here’s your GSD ASMR for the day ❤️
