A lot of people clearly haven’t grappled with what’s coming. Even the idea of what Democrats can do better “next time” is displaying a lack of awareness of what next time will look like.

Being honest about the dangers is not panicking. Don’t leave this to vulnerable people to pick up your slack.

One kinda underrated factor for Trump rn is that he promised an absolutely unworkable amount of tax cuts and giveaways to win.

If you voted for free IVF, no more taxes on your tips, tax deductions on auto loans, all while your grocery bill went back to 2019 levels... hm good luck

As @jvl.bsky.social pointed out, Harris ran a smart campaign. She was a solid candidate. Trump ran a disastrous campaign and is in clear decline. This was a clear choice. No matter who wins, half of voters either chose bigotry and authoritarianism, or had no problem with it. And that’s hard to take.

If Trump wins, there will be efforts to blame Russian interference or the Harris campaign or Biden, etc. That's all fair. But we need to be clear eyed that a huge swath of America likes what Trump is selling. Transphobia. Mass deportation. That's what he ran on. And here we are.

Have to love the self-righteous doofuses who prefer to think that the issue is whether people here are going to desert Biden for Trump, when the problem is that the electoral college count is already plunging toward disaster in the handful of states that will actually decide this thing.

The way people attacking any discussion of Biden's electability - and that's what it's about - sound like the people who flipped out on anyone questioning Hillary's electability and it's giving me the same feeling in the pit of my stomach.

Q: Governor Noem, did you meet with Emmanuel Macron?

A: I’ve been to the Champs Elysees.

Q: While there, did you have a personal encounter with the President of France?

A: I’m not going to talk about my conversations but I have eaten a pain au chocolat.

Q: Were you in his presence?

A: Eclair
