Last Friday, I closed out the week with a tour at Mary’s Center to learn more about the services they offer both at the Georgia Ave site as well as their other locations. I also toured Briya Public Charter, which is co-located with Mary’s Center.

Currently hearing impactful testimony on the absence of available resources for students that need behavioral health access in schools but don’t fit into the criteria for an IEP or a 504, and the benefit of wrap around services for students.

The Let Our Vows Endure Emergency Amendment Act of 2025 was officially passed by Council today! DC residents will soon be able to marry again despite the federal government shutdown! #putaringonit 💍 💜

Today I introduced the Let Our Vows Endure Emergency Amendment Act of 2025. The legislation will amend District law on an emergency and temporary basis to allow the Mayor to issue marriage licenses during a federal shutdown.

Council will vote on the bill tomorrow during our legislative meeting.
