Unserious people writing about unserious people in a national publication. You can see how the problem perpetuates.

Niche magazines are a beloved indulgence of mine. Forgotten joys of print, so many we never came close to matching with online equivalents.

Caught up on the goings on behind the scenes of the “united left” with a CC canvasser tonight. WhatsApp groups so large they had to be divided out into 3. Sitting TDs having to be told to STFU when offffff topic and then sliding into DMs. Wouldn’t be able, glad others are.

Enjoyed some of the perspectives on Michael D’s presidency at my local polling station in Cabra this AM.

I follow The Clare Echo, somewhat reluctantly, to keep a loose eye on some of “the discourse” in my home county. This is the crap they pulled today when Catherine Connolly was out canvassing.

I like to follow the news from home so I keep my echo chamber from getting too echoey and coz I like spiking blood pressure at least twice a week. Today it’s the turn of FG councillor Bill Slattery.

FWIW, screenshot of same post ended up in my LinkedIn feed. I took a screenshot there as I thought it was *almost* unfathomable. Didn’t read the comments, just cut that connection loose.

For me the question is why is Ireland so mediocre, on average, across the board?

The longer I spend on this rock, the more I find. And it’s not new.

Take the crumbled vision for Áras Mhic Dhiarmada and Busáras as just one example from the public realm.

Headline from @thejournal.ie is @news.rte.ie third-last sentence. The soundbite going out on Lyric FM news today is all about the drop, the success. Which one takes more advertising cash from car brands again?

One space at the junction of Balloboggan and Broombridge Road within what’s earmarked for the “new town” here is looking to get out…
