CLIME focuses on tuberculosis (TB) research, specifically: Diagnostics of TB, Infectiousness of TB and role of the Microbiome in TB! Find us on other platforms: https://linktr.ee/climegroup
New publication alert!

The AveloMask detects TB from breath, helping identify those most infectious while protecting healthcare workers - a safer, non-invasive path to earlier diagnosis and targeted interventions.

Millions of people with TB go undiagnosed because they can’t produce sputum.

Our new study shows oral washes and tongue swabs tested with Xpert MTB/RIF Ultra can detect TB even without sputum — a simple, scalable way to close the diagnostic gap.

Extrapulmonary tuberculosis (EPTB) like lymphadenitis and pericarditis often requires painful and invasive procedures. 💉
We evaluated if simple blood tests can be used to identify people more likely to have EPTB and avoid these.🩸

🧪 Contaminated TB cultures are often discarded — but they can still hold answers.

This study shows Xpert MTB/XDR testing could recover drug resistance data from them, detecting more cases, faster.

A simple change with powerful impact!
