This is actually incorrect. Vaseline was invented for college students who were desperate to look cool despite horrific eczema flares

I can't count how many hours I've spent on the phone fighting with my insurance company over my daughter's inhalers.

We need to ban insurance companies' prior authorization practices - now.

This is amazing. The kind of amazing that's like, why wasn't it like this sooner?! But amazing nonetheless. Excellent for the people likeliest to have uncaught math errors in particular!
My bipartisan IRS MATH Act with Senator Bill Cassidy is now law.

Now, if you mess up your taxes, the IRS has to tell you where you made a mistake and how to fix it.

No more spending a fortune on lawyers or hours to find errors.

That means fewer headaches and more money in your pocket.

I guess it's not so bad, being a horse . . .
I always thought it was so mean that we command horses by digging our heels into them. Then I realized my cat begs for attention by reaching up and poking her claws into my skin. I am the horse, she has trained me to respond to pain as a command.

This is beautiful
Yesterday while decorating the tree my daughter said “God rest ye Merry Gentle Ben” so that’s the song now in our house

Self-punishment as a change strategy reinforces the idea we "deserve" to suffer for our mistakes-- thing is, trauma survivors are already suffering almost every day. If suffering changed behavior in positive ways, we'd be perfect & awesome by now.

Do you feel perfect & awesome?

MY CAT
ATE
HALF A SLICE OF TOFU
BEFORE HE WAS REMOVED FROM IT

WHAT is wrong with him? How does he conclude THAT is food?

If we eat it, he eat it, apparently . . .

I will dilute my pop and do other insane things to keep the sugar from sending me bouncing off the walls, but the one thing I WILL NOT do is drink diet pop. I do not understand how people can.

What do these corporations have in common?

Netflix
Ford
Tesla
T-Mobile
Duke Energy
DISH Network
Metlife
Dominion Energy
United States Steel

In recent years, they all paid their execs more than they paid in taxes.

This is what a corporate-rigged system looks like.

Over at Whatever I'm looking at the phenomenon of people living paycheck to paycheck while making $500k a year, how one gets into that position, and some observations from my own (immensely privileged to be clear) point of view.

Sometimes—and I do know it's irrational—but sometimes (most of the time) I feel like if something doesn't come naturally, I'm just deficient in that regard and should avoid it. Not helped by the fact that I am moderately good at a lot of things, so I can not avoid most things and pretend all is good
